Roots

My story in a few words for the muses that inspire me, free-spirited beings, passionate about travel and culture.

Hola! my name is Krystal, founder of Venturosa and I'm happy to say hi to you from two very special cities to me: London and Oaxaca, where the Venturosa studios are based.

Venturosa was born several years ago thanks to a life full of challenges, adventures, and good fortune.

When I was 2 years old, I survived a car accident, in which I, unfortunately, lost my mom, thus gaining an angel in heaven and a hero on earth, my dad. Thanks to him, in 2005 I moved to Milan with 2 suitcases,  and a big dream: to become a fashion designer.

Luckily, I got my first job as a product development assistant at an Italian menswear brand and that's how it all began. I spent 10 years working and living between Milan and London.

In 2020, the speed of the fashion world pushed me to resign from my job in London and return to live in my loved Mexico after 16 years in Europe. This little pause in life made me travel to Oaxaca, where I arrived with plans to stay 1 week and the rest is history.

Venturosa was born from the desire to reconnect with my roots, from the need to offer an antidote to Fast Fashion, and my passion for co-creating with Mexican artisans and sharing the richness of our ancestral textile techniques.

Today I present myself not as a fashion designer, but as a woman who grew up making compositions of materials with ribbons, buttons, and threads in her grandmother's haberdashery; as someone who cares about the people behind each process and seeks to promote artisans along with their textile heritage.

With love, Krys
